Early Bird

May 27th, 2008 by Jacob

Just so you all know what kind of harsh life I have…. It’s currently 4:02am, I’ve been up for about a half hour, and in about 25 minutes I need to be in the shop ready to leave. I would mention the fact that I had to pack my own lunch, but I know some of you who already do that would feel obligated to leave a comment proudly stating that you do that every weekday. And frankly, I don’t need to hear any of that garbage.

Awesome Opossum!

BTW read thesinger’s post about yesterday morning. …good times.

Saturday

April 26th, 2008 by Jacob

Well, today was unusual. Unlike most Saturdays we had school. School was just normal. I did a written report and that’s about it. After school Ryan and I went over to the church and mowed/trimmed. Unfortunately, rain kept us from finishing. Tonight our whole family with the exception of Matt, went to Pizza Hut.  Okay, sorry it’s so short, but today was quite uneventful.

Wednesday

April 24th, 2008 by Jacob

Well because of time, I’m going to have to keep this brief. Today was a very bad day for me. I was trying to do math, but it didn’t go to well. I basically did corrections the entire day. I’m still not even half done with my literature book, and I now have two late reports. Shame shame…Tonight was men’s meeting at church so I didn’t go.

I’m sorry that this post is so brief, but I need to go to bed like a good boy.

Finally

April 23rd, 2008 by Jacob

Well, I’ve been reminded quite a few times recently that i should post again so here is another post.

The recent months since I’ve posted have been fairly uneventful. School is about the only thing that has really happened.

I did get to go to two cool concerts between my last post and now. The first one was Sally Harmon. About half of the concert was Sally soloing on piano, and the other half was Sally with her husband (who played bass) playing together. I thoroughly enjoyed the solo part, but the duo I didn’t enjoy quite as much. The second concert that I went to was The Duttons. The Duttons are a family from Branson. I did enjoy the concert alot. I expected the evening to be mainly bluegrass, but it turned out to be more country. They played some bluegrass, classical, and rock as well. Since they did allot of covers I knew a few of the songs. Afterwards I bought a poster and got it signed. And I got the one kid to show me how to do the “moonwalk.”

While I’m talking about concerts anyway, I think I’ll try my best to promote the community concerts. Mrs. I showed me the lineup for this year. It looks pretty good for the most part. And the concerts are very affordable. Students - $10; Adults - $30; and Family - $70. And since there are five concerts, that means that it comes out nicely to $2 per concert for students.

Oh, one more thing… I was working outside the entire day today, so tomorrow my arms and neck will hurt…. oh well…

I hope this satisfies your hunger for posts for a few days at least. I think I’ll go read that book (that I’m supposed to give and oral and written report for tomorrow).

Sunday and Monday

January 15th, 2008 by Jacob

On Sunday morning Gary Miller preached. For some reason my memory is failing me and present, so I can’t tell you exactly what it was about. In the afternoon I took my traditional nap. Then after supper we went to Marvin Yutzy’s to hang out. I played pool with Seth for a while. I did manage to win one game, but to keep from being embarrassed, I woln’t say how many games we played. Seth made some excellent popcorn. I’m not sure what all he did to it, but it was sweet rather than salty. Very good popcorn!

At breakfast this morning, I found out that I wasn’t the only person who didn’t sleep very well. Don’t ask me why, but for some reason several of us didn’t sleep very well.

Gary Miller was supposed to have chapel at school this morning, but Mr. Schrock failed to remind him so we didn’t have a speaker. Mr. Schrock talked about this month’s memory (Which reminds me, I still need to say December’s passage). I did Algebra most of the day today (When I said that I was in a good mood, I meant that I was in a good mood when I *wasn’t* doing algebra). Luckily I’m nearly done with algebra.

I emailed Maria Stutzman on Saturday and asked her what Piano books I should buy to work through while she is gone. She replied and said that I could go over to her house and get some books. So this afternoon I went over there and got some fun stuff.

And I’ll end with a quote. This is something that one of my friends asked me recently. “Have you considered going on a diet?”

John Bayless

January 14th, 2008 by Jacob

For a long time I was going to post on my old blog about a concert that I attended, but I never did. So, I decided to write briefly about it now. For those of you who live around here, It was on the night that we had a big ice storm. John Bayless was doing a Christmas concert at Memorial Hall. I was in the second row seated perfectly to see along the keyboard. It was a very cool show. I could try to tell you how awesome it was, but I couldn’t come close to covering it’s awesomeness. After the concert he gave away cd’s as an “early Christmas present”. I got my cd as well as a poster autographed. That’s about all I have to say about it, but if Mr. Bayless is ever giving a concert close by and you are in the mood to sit back and watch someone create musical fusion on a Steinway grand, then definitely get tickets.

Coffee and Doughnuts

January 13th, 2008 by Jacob

This morning after I helped clean the church, I headed over to Lavern Miller’s house with my coffee maker and some coffee. Since I was helping clean the church, I got there late. John, Kevin, and Ryan were already partying hard when we got there. I fairly quickly poured myself a cup of already brewed coffee and started up my own coffee maker. Kevin had picked up one dozen donuts and a few cinnamon rolls from the Dutch Kitchen on his way to the party so I dug into those too. So basically, we stat around all morning talking and drinking coffee. All of us that is except for Matthew, who *thinks* that he doesn’t like coffee.

So now that I’ve told you what we did, I’ll add a few nice little comment that were made.

When we were discussing coffee floats, Matt voiced his (negative) opinions about the idea. When Kevin told him that since he has never tried one, he doesn’t actually know if he likes them or not, Matt replied, “I’ve never tasted poop, but I know that it doesn’t taste good.”\
Quote from Kevin: “Nothing like a hot one on a cold day.”

Well I hope that I’ve made you jealous. …or something.

New Blog

January 12th, 2008 by Jacob

Ok, so Ryan and Kevin convinced me to do this. So, since I have to pay for it anyway then I might as well post. So I will soon post something.
